lots going on at this show. my first time seeing Cowpokes in their latest, communal molasses ooze of slow dance country form. Sallow Friend absolutely tore it up, i filmed half their set before my camera died and the file corrupted. i missed the full body 2 set because i took a walk to level myself out and by the time i got back the cops had showed up and they had stopped. at that point i opted to leave, given i had to wake up early the next morning, but i still caught a couple photos of A Country Western. as i left the cops pulled up again and shut the show down for good, i assume.

initially supposed to be an A Night of Arrogance show, we had to drop because Rowan got covid. Cowpokes took our place, and predictably knocked it out of the park.

writing this about 5 months after the fact, i don't really know what was up with this one. i'm pretty sure Paul asked me to play it with some project or another, and no flyer was ever posted. also my first brush with the newer iteration of Cold Court.

after an arduous process of trying to hitch a ride from Philly to DC to see this, i eventually bit the bullet and crammed myself into the fifth seat in DOJD drummer Trent's Honda Civic. Rhizome is a lovely little spot, a house converted into an art gallery on the second floor, and a performance space on the first complete with holes cut in the drywall for better sightlines. show went wonderfully, very well attended in spite of none of the bands really being local.
